Does Hip Hop Hate Women?

So does it?

Let’s find out at the community dialogue on Hip Hop on Friday, October 5th at 7pm.
The event is hosted by Beverly Bond of Black Girls Rock! Inc., and moderated by Bakari Kitwana of the National Hip-Hop Political Convention. This discussion of the gender crisis facing the hip-hop generation features intellectuals and activists including Mark Anthony Neal, Duke University; Joan Morgan, author of When Chickenheads Come Home to Roost: My Life as a Hip-Hop Feminist; M-1, aka Mutulu Olugabala, rapper and activist; Byron Hurt, director of Hip Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes; and Tracy Sharpley-Whiting, Vanderbilt University.

This event is presented by Black Girls Rock! in conjunction with VH1 Hip Hop Honors Weekend.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, my favorite spa, Bliss, is having a blowout sale! 80% off!! I logged on to the website today and stocked up on a few of my obsessions. Hurry, the sale ends on September 30th. You know what I like about them? Free samples! Every time you place an order with Bliss, you get the very cute, eco-friendly Bliss bag and free samples. Who doesn’t love a sample?! Log on at www.blissworld.com.

Until next time..

One should not enter a room and expect ambiance, One should enter a room and become it..
